Welcome.

Greetings to all of you at NSUU!

It won't be long before we are meeting in person and I look forward to that day. In the meantime, you'll find here some information as an introduction.

I've enjoyed what I've heard about NSUU so far. And if your Search Committee is representative of the congregation, I know I will enjoy serving you should you decide to call me.

In 2001, I left the computer business world where I found monetary success but little job satisfaction to go to seminary. My hope was that I would find in ministry a calling that uses my best abilities and one where I would look forward each day to my work. It has proven to be that for me and more.

It is a great privilege to do the work of ministry because it is a profession that is deeply fulfilling even as it is challenging. It is an honor as a minister to witness and support the steps people take toward spiritual growth and healing and to join with them in challenging the voices that would say that nothing is possible. It is a joy to co-create beloved community with people who believe in the principles of our liberal religious faith. And it is exciting to form relationships and alliances with clergy in other faiths or to reach out into the wider world with caring and an open mind.

There are many ways a church can serve its members and the wider community and each church has its own unique identity. I am looking forward to serving NSUU. You have a long and active history. I've already learned that you have eager and intelligent members and that you have done a lot of thoughtful work defining your next steps and goals. I know I will enjoy getting to know you and engaging in this wonderful work together.

In faith,
Frieda
